Cusworth's School, Halifax



In 1865, Mary Ann Cusworth ran a ladies' school at St John's House, Halifax.

It was the successor to Walton's School.

In 1871/1874, the school was at Savile Park, Halifax

The 1871 census records the following:

Also 29 pupils aged 9 to 17 and 6 servants

The 1881 Census records the Ladies' College at Skircoat

Also 12 pupils aged 9 to 18 and 6 servants.
