The Lancashire & Yorkshire Bank Limited was established in 1872.
In the following years, they merged with and acquired several other banks in Lancashire, the West Riding of Yorkshire and the Isle of Man.
In December 1927, the bank merged with the Bank of Liverpool & Martins Bank.
